Lightcast Australia, New Zealand Advertised Education Levels
Updated over a week ago

What is changing?

Lightcast will be transitioning the Australia & New Zealand job postings data to our improved Education Levels classification.

When will this change take place?

We are planning for this change to go live on 17 February 2025.

What are the benefits of this change?

Lightcast's improved education level classification will use the newest version of our coding which will enable:

  • Users will see improved accuracy in education levels

  • Faster updates of education level coding

What will this change mean for me?

Classification of postings having an education will stay at a similar level as seen below:

% of postings classified with ISCED

% postings classified with prior education levels

New Zealand

20%

21%

Australia

35%

33%

Classification of education minimum thresholds will change. We are anticipating having a slightly lower tagging on postings for this due to the change in taxonomy and classification vs prior coding this can be seen below:

% of postings classified with Minimum education ISCED

% postings classified with Minimum education prior levels

New Zealand

17%

21%

Australia

27%

33%

Why are you changing the Education Levels classification?

Lightcast has invested in better postings classification. With this, we have taken steps to align this classification across all of our geographies. We will be mapping the advertised education from ISCED taxonomy which is described here.
