The Local Area Unemployment Statistics (LAUS) program produces monthly and annual employment, unemployment, and labor force data for Census regions and divisions, States, counties, metropolitan areas, and many cities, by place of residence.
Lightcast uses LAUS data to produce unemployment counts and labor force participation data. Given the frequent availability of the data through the LAUS program and the value that many clients gain from it, Lightcast updates the LAUS data in our products on a monthly basis, outside of the typical datarun process.
