Expected UK Changes to London Locations
Expected UK Changes to London Locations
Updated this week

What is changing?

Lightcast has upgraded its location coding process to Google geocoding for postings as described here.

When will this change take place?

19th February 2025

What are the benefits of this change?

Lightcast's improved location will enable:

  • More accurate locations for postings on the whole.

  • More granularity in location coding where we know that posting has a specific city location.

What will this change mean for me?

Classification of postings will be stable overall on across the NUTS 1 (Nomenclature des Unités territoriales statistiques) level. Specific City's may experience a bigger change due to the benefits outlined above.

Change for London:

Specifically for City 'London', total volume of postings will drop where there is more granularity in location coding from the reporting from NUTS 1 level (Nomenclature des Unités territoriales statistiques), to a Local Authority level. This is due to a better capture of postings' location in London Boroughs.
