WEMO (Workforce Estimation Model) produces estimates based on government-published labour market data, with confidence scores calculated using the methodology outlined here.
Profiles data, in contrast, is derived from self-reported social profiles (e.g., LinkedIn) that have been active or available since 2018. Further details can be found here.
Both datasets are valuable for different use cases:
WEMO: Best for aligning with official government statistics and workforce estimates.
Profiles: Useful for tracking career changes, company moves, and estimating candidate availability within a region.
These datasets will not necessarily match due to differences in data sources, coverage, and methodology.
In some instances, the number of profiles displayed may exceed the number of employment records. This is particularly common when Specialist Occupations are used in the comparison.
