What is changing?
Lightcast will be transitioning the Singapore job postings data to our improved job type coding.
When will this change take place?
We are planning this change to be completed in the 31 March 2025.
What are the benefits of this change?
Lightcast's classification will use the newest version of our coding and methodology.
The methodology will introduce:
Coding of permanent job type across all postings
A new coded job type field 'Temporary/permanent'
More accurate coding job type field 'Temporary'
Coding of permanent job type across all postings will become default unless the job postings indicates temporary within the job posting text, which will then code to a temporary field.
What will this change mean for me?
Classification of postings having a 'temporary' job type improve as seen below:
Singapore | 2021 | 2022 | 2023 | 2024 |
Prior coding of 'Temporary' | 3.5% | 2.5% | 3% | 5% |
New coding of 'Temporary / Permanent or Temporary' | 11% | 9% | 9% | 11% |
Why are you changing the classification?
Lightcast has invested in better postings classification. With this, we have taken steps to align this classification across all of our geographies.
