What does this mean for my analysis?
Overall, customers will see more profile data. We would advise customers to re-run their analysis.
Although we expect the change for United States to be minimal overall, in the March release we will be aligning the profiles classification to O*NET and SOC to be improved, this will mean that customers using these occupation filters will see a change in specific analysis as detailed here.
Technical Notes
Why are you changing the profile filtering process?
Lightcast has invested in better profiles classification at Company, Geography, and Occupation level. With this, we have taken steps to use these improvements enabling Lightcast to release more profiles across its data sets.
Why am I seeing increased numbers?
As we have better classification, this means that we are no longer constrained to filtering for profiles that were previously difficult to categorize. Customers will see more profiles in specific country locations as well as nationally per country.
What is Lightcast's new filtering for “Usable” Profiles on Global data?
After classification, we still apply some filters to profiles before displaying them in Lightcast products. Profiles are filtered out if they meet one or more of these conditions:
We do not know the person’s country of residence
The profile does not have a job history
The profile is older then 2018-01-01 which removes outdated profiles
The profile is not in English or Spanish
The profile is not from a reputable source such as LinkedIn, Github or Twitter
